Ouzy with Rice
Ouzy is a spiced rice dish with meat and vegetables. This version uses lamb.
Ingredients
- 1 piece Spring Roll Dough
- 1 kg Lamb Meat, cut into small pieces
- 300 g Butter
- 3 cup Medium Grain Rice
- 1 cup Frozen Peas
- 1 Pomegranate, cook seed with it and decorate
- 0.25 cup Roasted Pistachios, Roasted
- 0.25 cup Pine Nuts, Toasted
- 0.25 tsp Seven Spices
- 0.25 tsp Black Pepper
- 0.25 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Nutmeg
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 Hot Water, hot
Method
- Add 100g of butter and fry the meat well in the butter. Add the spices, and cover the ingredients with water on a low heat for about an hour to make a meat broth.
- Add the meat, peas and spices over the rice and stir the ingredients together.
- Add the meat broth and stir, then cover the ingredients and leave them to cook for a quarter of an hour on a low heat.
- Heat the rice, then put the pine nuts and pistachios on top.
- Roll out the dough lengthwise, then roll it into a roll and then cut it.
- Roll out the roll in a circular shape, then place the dough circle in the heart of a plate and fill it with rice.
- Close the edges of the dough on the filling, then place it in a hot oven for ten to fifteen minutes, until it turns red.
