Egyptian Fattah
This is a traditional Egyptian food that can be used to celebrate any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 kg Meat
- 4 clove Garlic
- 2 loaf Pita Bread / Arabic Bread
- 3 tbsp Vinegar
- 2 cup Cooked Rice, cooked
- Black Pepper, to taste
Method
- Cut the meat into cubes, and boil it in a saucepan, then cover the mixture, leave to boil a little until the meat is completely cooked, then filter the broth, and set aside. Toast the pita or Arabic bread in the oven for 30 minutes until it becomes crunchy.
- Divide the Arabic bread or pita bread into small pieces and place in a deep plate.
- Pour a cup of the boiled meat broth over the crusty bread.
- Add the cooked rice on top of the bread.
- Season the rice with a generous amount of black pepper. Chop the garlic into small pieces, then fry in a frying pan with oil until golden, then add vinegar, and leave to concentrate a little.
- Pour the vinegar and garlic mixture over the rice.
- Place the meat on top of the rice, and serve hot.
